4-Metre Direct Cut Header for Ryetec
Following their recent acquisition of the Quickcut brand, Ryetec Industrial Equipment Ltd approached Kingfab to totally refresh and revamp their 4-metre direct cut header.
It was clear from the outset that this was a complex task.
The brief was to produce a new fresh design that would be at the forefront of the market, both in performance and looks for several years to come.
One feature that was high on the list of requirements was to have a base unit with an adjustable interchangeable headstock enabling fitment to all of the main forage harvester brands.
Work started around the cutter deck and auger:
Then onto the main frame:
Concept drawings were then produced to help visualise the design.
After the approval of the concept designs, work then started on creating a manufacturable product.
Producing a full job pack, this pack included:
- Separate part drawings,
- Export dxf files for laser cutting,
- Full Bill of materials.
- Library of all bought-in parts including possible suppliers.
- Subassembly working drawings,
- Final assembly working drawings

As with all KingFab designs ease of manufacture is a priority for the end product, with this project being wholly manufactured in house by Ryetec, wherever possible the parts are self-jigging.
We were on hand to help with final assembly where requested.
The result of the collaboration is a finished product second to none that will push the Ryetec brand onwards and upwards.
